Freelance Web-developer at large

November, 2008 - February, 2009

When freelancing I work both augmenting agency capabilities and also directly with my own clients. During this time, I worked with a designer to hand-code an XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript–based informational website for an environmental consultancy, and in the process taught myself the basics of the Dojo Toolkit. Also during this time, I worked with a Minneapolis-based marketing agency to complete two projects for end-client FedEx.

  • Collaborated with freelance designer to create an XHTML, CSS, JavaScript based informational website for local business.
  • Created Flash-based XML-driven, quiz, video player, and article viewer, with local marketing agency.
  • Developed three distinct e-cards and incorporated them into an existing e-card–delivery architecture, with the same local marketing agency.

Lead Creative Developer at Azul 7

June - November, 2007

As Lead Creative Developer at Azul 7, my work was focused in two main areas: full-browser experience-driven Flash sites, and CMS-driven and SEO'd interactive data visualizations. Here, I was able to work closely with a server-side developer and SEO specialist finding ways of delivering Flash content to search engines, and with a small team of highly skilled designers creating and concepting high-quality pixel-perfect interactive experiences.

  • Developed rich interactive additions to dynamic content-driven sites, as well as creating several experience-driven full-browser Flash sites.
  • Worked with server-side developer and SEO specialist to deliver Flash content to search engines.
  • Created design-motivated interactive experiences, while paying pixel-perfect respect to original design.
  • Performed various “traditional” web development duties, building or modifying XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and ASP as needed.
